2008-08-07 - Good news: At long last, an update after more than a year and a half. I finally got together all of the pieces that I had been working on and packaged it up for public release. This was done in two iterations, 2.02 and 3.00. If you want FOXSCAPE for the Firefox 2 series, click on "See All Versions" and get version 2.02. For the Firefox 3 series, click on the "Add to Firefox" button on this page to get version 3.00.
FOXSCAPE 2.02 is the more complete version of the two skins. In FOXSCAPE 3.00 all of the core elements have been completed. Some parts still need to be finished, like the Go and Search buttons, as well as some buttons in Options and Library. The omissions are minor. All of the features of FOXSCAPE 2.02 have been included if applicable. The Report Site button and Bookmarks Manager icons are no longer included since Firefox no longer has them. There possibly may be some errors in the built in readme. I did not spend time going through it to see what needed to be changed for version 3.00. I just wanted to get 3.00 out the door. Hopefully I will get all of the last issues addressed in the 3.01 release. Also, the FOXSCAPE Icon Pack will not presently self install in Firefox 3. This is apparently due to a difference in the way Firefox 3 handles .xpi files or the install.js script within it. When following the included instructions, at the point where it says to "double click the config.html file," you can do a manual install by opening the foxscape-icon-pack-windows.xpi (located in the same folder as config.html) in an un-zip utility and extract the "default" folder to your "C:Program FilesMozilla Firefoxchromeiconsdefault" folder or similar folder relative to where you installed Firefox. If anyone can tell me how to fix the automatic installation .xpi for Firefox 3, it would be greatly appreciated. I will even give you credit in the documentation.
There are several new features:
* ADDED keyhole style unified Back and Forward button (in 3.00 only)
* ADDED internal viewable readme. Go to: chrome://browser/skin/readme
* ADDED internal icon pack. Go to: chrome://browser/skin/iconpack
* ADDED original Page Proxy icon to the left end of the Location control.
* ADDED Report Site button depressed (active) state icon. (in 2.02 only)
* IMPROVED consistency of icon size in the following Bookmarks Manager icons: New Bookmark..., New Folder..., New Separator, and Move... (in 2.02 only)
* ADDED images for the Splash extension and the about:blank page.
* ADDED skin for the Work Offline extension.
* ADDED skin for the QuickRestart extension's restart button.
It is quite surprising that I am able to add more stuff to a theme which most people would think is already complete. After all it's just that boring Netscape browser style! ;-)

My replies to reviews

I promptly replied to sunalwayshinesss and KB8QEU and got no response from them. I guess, like myself (until recently), they (and probably many others) do not realize that you can only see a theme creator's replies by following the instructions above.
Lastly, I send my thanks out to all reviewers for their input. It really does help to motivate me.
